Charity
Preview
is set
for
Friday,
Jan. 18,
from 6 –
9 p.m.,
and
expectations
are
running
high
that the
gala
will
continue
to
showcase
Detroit’s
generous
giving
spirit
to
benefit
local
children’s
charities.
Tickets
to the
black-tie
event
are $400
each,
$390 of
which is
tax
deductible.
The
2019
Charity
Preview
will
feature
an
evening
of glitz
and
glamour
on the
show
floor,
in
addition
to
entertainment
following
from 9 –
11 p.m.
The
ever-popular
Your
Generation
in
Concert
will
take the
Cobo
Center
Atrium
stage
once the
show
doors
close,
celebrating
five
decades
of pop,
rock,
dance
and R&B
hits.
Guests
can
enjoy
casual
complimentary
food and
beverage,
including
hot
dogs,
potato
chips,
pretzels
and
bottled
water
(available
in the
Atrium
and main
concourse
from 8 –
11
p.m.).
Cash
bars
will
also be
positioned
in the
Atrium
and main
concourse.
Considered
the
world’s
largest
annual
single-night
fundraiser,
the 2018
Charity
Preview
raised
nearly
$5.1
million
and drew
almost
13,000
people.
Proceeds
directly
benefit
a wide
range of
children’s
charities.
Funds
raised
will
support
services
for
children
of all
ages
from
birth to
18.
Since
1976,
the
Charity
Preview
has
raised
nearly
$118
million
for
southeast
Michigan
children’s
charities
– over
$40
million
of which
was
raised
in the
last 10
years
alone.
