DETROIT, MI – Regina Andrew Detroit (RAD) has been named the 2019 Winner of the 30th Annual ARTS Awards in the Lamp Manufacturing Category. Winners of the 30th Annual ARTS Awards were announced at a black-tie gala at the Hilton Anatole Hotel during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market. “We are honored to receive this award among the industry’s best manufacturers and designers,” said Slaven, who co-founded RAD with his wife Carla Regina Zajac. “Designed in Detroit, each of our uniquely crafted lamps draws inspiration from our city as well as our travels around the world. We are very proud of this collection, which incorporates cutting-edge innovation with quality craftmanship, using materials and techniques from across the globe.”

“We are proud to bring this award back to our hometown,” said Zajac. “Our Detroit heritage can be seen through our work and products. It’s this city-born grit and grace that continues to delight and surprise our customers.”

RAD’s award-winning collection, which features 18 beautifully-designed lamps, can be found here. This is the third year in a row that RAD has received an ARTS Award. RAD received The Green Award for green manufacturing in 2017 and a Home Accents award in 2018.

For over 20 years, RAD celebrates electrified living through unforgettable lighting, home accessories, furniture and jewelry design. Born and raised in South Detroit, RAD has exploded from its humble beginnings in a makeshift garage workshop into a multi-disciplinary studio with global manufacturing facilities and showrooms across the country, including RAD’s Flagship Showroom located in Wyandotte, MI.

The RAD Studio is a collaborative space for local Detroit creatives and artisans to passionately bring to life beautifully crafted wares in the spirit of the city. RAD believes in nurturing and mentoring up-and-coming home-grown talent and actively recruits and hires from local design schools, including the College for Creative Studies.

Established in 1998 by a dynamic married duo, Carla “Regina” Zajac and Jimi “Andrew” Slaven, the couple’s complimentary style creates a perfect balance of grit and grace. From their home base in Detroit to their manufacturing facilities overseas, RAD maintains a deep commitment to the communities and environments in which they live, work and play.
