Expanded
Coronavirus
pandemic
protocols
instituted
at the
Coleman
A. Young
Municipal
Center
DETROIT
- Due to
heightened
health
concerns
and
precautions
associated
with the
COVID-19
pandemic,
the
Detroit-Wayne
Joint
Building
Authority
(Authority),
owner
and
manager
of the
Coleman
A. Young
Municipal
Center,
has
expanded
its
existing
Pandemic
Protocols
with the
following
directives
for the
health
and
welfare
of
visitors
and
employees:
1.
Janitorial
–
Increased
Cleaning
of
Common
Areas,
Office
Suites
and
Courtrooms
with
added
Triage
Team.
The
existing
janitorial
staff
will
continue
regular
cleaning
tasks.
2.
Social
Distancing
– As a
preventive
measure
it is
recommended
that
individuals
attempt
a 6-foot
proximity
radius
between
one
another
and
limit
elevator
capacity
to a
maximum
of three
(3)
passengers.
a.
Randolph
Entrance:
i.
Employee-only
access
will be
limited
to the
Randolph
entrance
ii.
Prior to
screening,
taped
lines
suggest
6-foot
separation
b.
Center
Lobby
i.
To
expedite
security
screening,
the
center
lobby
will be
used by
the
general
public.
ii. Two
processing
lanes
are
provided,
and the
6-foot
separation
is
recommended.
3.
Security
Processing:
a.
Everyone’s
items
(purses,
briefcases
and
bags)
should
be
placed
on the
X-Ray
belt by
the
visitor
and
retrieved
after
clearance.
The
security
staff
will not
be
required
to touch
personal
items.
b.
Keys,
cellphones
and
other
pocket
items
will be
placed
by
visitors
in clear
plastic
bags
provided.
The
security
staff
will not
touch
personal
items,
nor will
these
items be
placed
in a bin
or on a
counter.
4. Erma
Lois
Henderson
Auditorium:
Based on
Governor
Whitmer’s
Executive
Order,
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
and
Prevention
advisory
and the
Authority’s
protocol;
the Erma
Lois
Henderson
Auditorium
is
closed.
