  Mariners Inn presents inaugural "Revved Up For Recovery" classic car show Aug 11

The event includes a classic car show, BBQ, 50/50 raffle, DJ, open house and much more

DETROIT – JULY 24, 2018 – The Mariners Inn will host its inaugural “Revved Up for Recovery” classic car show and open house from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at 445 Ledyard St., Detroit. The event, which is open to the public and highlights the nonprofit’s life-saving programs and services, includes a classic car show, BBQ, raffles and prizes, DJ music, and much more. There is a suggested $5 entry donation for all attendees.

“Classic car fans will truly appreciate the opportunity to check out the many wonderful cars on display at our inaugural event, including a beautifully-maintained ’72 Ford Mustang and an original ’87 Buick Grand National,” said Mariners Inn CEO David Sampson. “This fun, family-friendly event give us a great opportunity to highlight the importance of leisure activities that don’t include drugs or alcohol for the recovery community. Importantly, it further helps us share the meaningful work that is conducted day-after-day by our dedicated team of counselors and staff at the Mariners Inn.”

In addition to the classic car show, attendees will enjoy a BBQ featuring hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixin’s, pop, chips and more. A donation is suggested for all food and beverage items. Attendees also will have the opportunity to tour the Mariners Inn facility, hear first-hand testimonials from alumni and current program participants, and purchase poetry books created by program participants. Event sponsorsphip opportunities are still available. There is a $10 fee for individuals interested in showing their classic car.
