Southwest
Solutions
to host
inaugural
gala
celebrating
social
impact
and
service
to
Detroiters
DETROIT – Since its start in 1970, Southwest Solutions has improved the
lives of
hundreds
of
thousands
of
people
in metro
Detroit
through
its
social,
economic
and
human
services
programs.
On
Friday,
September
14, the
non-profit
will
celebrate
its work
in the
community
at the
inaugural
Celebration
of
Impact
Gala at
the MGM
Grand
Detroit
Hotel,
from
6:00
p.m.
until
midnight.

emcee
for the
fundraising
event,
which
will
honor
two
social
impact
leaders:
John Van
Camp,
retired
Southwest
Solutions
President
& CEO,
and
Nancy
Schlichting,
retired
CEO of
Henry
Ford
Health
System.
They
will
receive
the
inaugural
Clement
Kern
Awards
for
Social
Impact.
“Father
Kern
founded
Southwest
Solutions
as a
small
community
mental
health
agency
in
southwest
Detroit,
and he
dedicated
his life
to
serving
the city
and its
residents,”
said
Steve
Ragan,
senior
vice
president
for
development
and
external
relations
at
Southwest
Solutions.
“It’s
fitting
that we
honor
his
legacy
and
build on
his
commitment
to
social
justice
by
recognizing
those in
the
community
who are
creating
social
impact
that
changes
lives.”
Celebration
of
Impact
has
already
generated
more
than
$500,000
from
sponsorship
packages
and
ticket
sales.
Proceeds
will
support
Southwest
Solutions’
work in
community
mental
health,
neighborhood
development,
job
training
and
other
programs
that
strengthen
individuals
and
communities.
The
fun-filled
evening
gets
underway
at 6:00
p.m.
with a
VIP
honoree
reception,
followed
by a
three-course
dinner,
awards
program,
auction,
and
after
party
featuring
live
music
and a
high-flying
performance
by
Detroit
Circus.
The

Event
