DETROIT - Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Major Clora, Jr., 37, (DOB: 03/19/1983), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of his 58-year-old cousin outside a funeral home.

On August 10, 2020 at approximately 10:42 a.m., Detroit Police officers were dispatched to a funeral home in the 5800 block of East Seven Mile Road in response to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, the officers located the lifeless body of a 58-year-old man in the rear parking lot.

The defendant was arrested at the scene. It is alleged that an argument between the two men escalated and the defendant pulled a weapon, fatally shooting him. More complete facts will be placed on the record in court during the Preliminary Examination.

Clora has said in the past that his Detroit based firm has made it their mission is to honor life in every aspect of what they do. Whether it is helping a family work through arrangements for the loss of a loved one, assisting them in pre-planning funeral needs, or providing a beautiful setting to celebrate the life of a loved one, Clora Funeral Homes work hard to provide a meaningful memorial of lives well lived to the families they serve."
