Sonarworks
has
introduced
a piece
of audio
processing
software
that
could
very
well
revolutionize
the way
you
listen
to music
thru
your
headphones.
It’s
called
True-Fi.
Digitally
elevating
the
sound of
average
headphones
into a
high end
studio
quality
listening
device.
This is
done
through
your
headphones
by
changing
the
signal
you
hear,
uninfluenced
by the
equipment
itself.
In other
words,
the
software
controls
your
equipment
for
ultimate
listening
enjoyment.
A little
background
on
Sonarworks.
In 2011
Helmuts
Bems
Founder/CEO
and
Janis
Spogis
Partner/VP
came
together
to
create a
music
technology
company
delivering
award-winning
software
for the
studio
sound
experience
on
headphones.
The
company
is
endorsed
by
Grammy
Award
producers
and
sound
engineers,
at 2017
Sonarworks
True-Fi
software
received
an award
as the
best
accessory
for
music
listening
and the
Sonarworks
technology
was also
used in
music
preparation
for the
2016 Rio
Olympic
Games
Closing
Ceremony.
Now back
to the
review.
Because
all
headphones
deliver
a
different
sound
based on
manufacturer
and
model,
we
decided
to test
the
True-Fi
software
on the
Cleer
FLOW and
Sennheiser
Urbanite
(both
bluetooth),
along
with the
Marshall
Monitor
and Sony
MDR-V150
(both
wired)
and
lastly,
a pair
of $10
discount
store
earbuds.
Not to
get too
deep
into the
weeds,
the
Sonar
True-Fi
developers
are
aware
that all
headphones
sound
different
and
alter
the
sound of
music as
it was
heard in
the
recording
studio -
this
sound
difference
is the
largest
remaining
problem
in music
playback.
As a
result,
everyone
misses
out on
something.
True-Fi
is on a
mission
to
address
this
issue by
delivering
original
studio
sound to
all
music
listeners.
Helmuts
Bems,
CEO and
co-founder
of
Sonarworks
said,
“The
biggest
problem
music
listeners
experience
today is
not in
the file
and
stream
quality,
but the
playback.
True-Fi
uses
proprietary,
research-driven
technology
to
audibly
improve
the
performance
of
loudspeakers
and
headphones.”
For
a fair
assessment,
we
reviewed
the
True-Fi
audio
processor
with a
music
collection
that has
stood
the test
of time,
a file
that has
offered
nothing
less
than a
full
spectrum
of the
listening
experiences:
Jazz and
'Ol
Skool'
Jams. A
perfect
storm of
what
your
favorite
artists
hear in
their
studios
just
with the
headphones
you
already
have.
Downloading
the
software
was a
breeze.
By just
clicking
on the
install
button,
we were
on our
way. The
instructions
were
easy to
follow
and
syncing
True-Fi
with the
five
devices
was just
as
simple.
However,
the
execution
and
configuration
process
requires
one to
take
age,
gender
and
headphone
manufacturer
and
model in
order to
properly
sync the
product
with the
software.

After
testing
all the
possible

at our

the
True-Fi

truly
transformed
even the
most
modestly
priced
headphone
into a
high,
studio
quality

True-Fi
provides
a clean,
sophisticated

Also, we
tried
the
software
while
watching
movies
online.
The

was
amazing.

So, for
anybody

to
enhance
their
listening
experience,
this
could
very
well be
a viable
solution
without
going
broke or
selling
the farm
to buy
high end

The
True-Fi
platform
app can
be found
on the
Sonarworks
website
(sonarworks.com)
and runs
about
$79 plus
tax.
It's
compatible
with
both Mac
and PC
desktops
and for
free on
Apple
Store
and
Google
Play
mobile
devices.
The
company
offers a
10 day
free
trial
period,
so you
can give
a spin
around
the
block.
I'm sure
you will
agree
that
this
piece of
software
is very
cool.
