the
world
are
converging
on Las
Vegas
this
week at
the 2018
CES to
be among
the
first to
experience
VR, AR,
AI,
self-driving
vehicles,
5K
wireless
phones,
8K TVs
and
robots
that
offer
home
security.

The
Consumer
Technology
Association's
(CTA's)™
U.S.
Consumer
Technology
Sales
and
Forecasts
is
measuring
the size
and
growth
of
nearly
100
individual
consumer
technology
products
due to
hit the
marketplace
this
year.
Some
of the
most
popular
gadgets
over the
holiday
season
were
smart
speakers
with
digital
assistants
from
Amazon
and
Google .
Apple is
coming
out with
its own
speaker
this
year;
Microsoft
and
Samsung
have
partnered
on
another.
As
the
annual
gadget
show
kicks
off in
Las
Vegas
this
week,
manufacturers
are
expected
to
unveil
even
more
voice-controlled
devices
—
speakers
and
beyond —
as
Amazon
and
Google
make
their
digital
assistants
available
on a
wider
array of
products.
If these
prove
popular,
you’ll
soon be
able to
order
around
much
more of
your
house,
including
kitchen
appliances,
washing
machines
and
other
devices.
The
four-day
event
officially
launches
Tuesday.
It
generates
$354
million
of
spending
for the
city as
attendees
fill up
hotel
rooms
and
restaurants,
book
nightclub
tables
and
scoop up
souvenirs
at
retail
shops.
CES,
which is
closed
to the
public,
will
feature
nearly
4,000
exhibitors
ranging
from top
international
tech
giants
to
bootstrap
startups.
They
cover a
wide
range of
industries,
from
automobiles
and
music to
health
and
sports.
