LINCOLN
PARK,
Mich. –
At a
time
when
public
school
districts
across
Michigan
are
facing
declining
enrollment
and
significant
funding
challenges,
Lincoln
Park
Public
Schools
was
recently
recognized
for
being
excellent
fiscal
stewards
by
Michigan-based
municipal
and
school
district
data
aggregator
Munetrix.
The
district
was one
of 36 in
Michigan
to
receive
a
perfect
fiscal
indicator
score
for
three
consecutive
years.
“Receiving
a
perfect
score on
this
assessment
is
validation
of our
continued
efforts
to be
good
stewards
of
taxpayer
resources,”
said
Terry
Dangerfield,
Lincoln
Park
Public
Schools
Superintendent.
“We are
motivated
to
continue
our
track
record
of being
fiscally
responsible
and
transparent
while
providing
a
top-notch
education
for all
our
students.”
The
new
report
analyzes
data
from the
Michigan
Department
of
Education
to
measure
fiscal
health
of
Michigan
school
districts.
The
scoring
system
considers
a
variety
of
factors
including
operations
performance,
enrollment
trends
and fund
balance
status.
A
perfect
score on
the
assessment
shows a
district
is on
strong
fiscal
footing.
Dangerfield
said the
score
serves
as a
testament
to the
district’s
management
of
limited
resources.
“While
we’re
pleased
with our
recognition
for
fiscal
responsibility,
there is
still
work to
be
done,”
said
Dangerfield.
”We
remain
committed
to
providing
the best
quality
education
for all
our
students
at
Lincoln
Park
Public
Schools
-
preparing
them to
be
college
and
career
ready.”
