  Daniel J. Loepp to continue as Chair of Michigan Parade Foundation

DETROIT – The Parade Company is pleased to announce Daniel J. Loepp, president and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM), will continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation through 2021. Loepp began his chairmanship in 2016.

“Dan is a major force in our city and region and we are incredibly appreciative of his great stewardship as Chairman of our Board,” said Tony Michaels, president & CEO, The Parade Company.

“It’s an honor to be involved in an organization that brings great tradition and joy to our community and whose work highlights the best of our city on a national stage,” said Loepp. “I’m proud to serve as Chairman for the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation and look forward to continued growth and exciting moments ahead.”

Loepp and BCBSM have been longtime supporters of The Parade Company, including America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van and the Ford Fireworks. 2018 marked BCBSM’s 35th year as a major parade sponsor.

America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van was named the Best Holiday Parade in America by USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Loepp is a strong supporter of the community and philanthropic community. He also serves on the Mackinac Island State Park Commission and is Executive Committee Chairman of the Downtown Detroit Partnership board, a Business Leaders for Michigan board member and former chairman of the Detroit Regional Chamber board. He has lent his support to many organizations and causes, including the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Eton Academy and the Alzheimer’s Association and will join several foundations to support awareness and fundraising in the fight against Parkinson’s disease, serving as Executive Chairs, with his wife Amy, for a fall fund-raiser, “Everybody versus Parkinson’s.”

Loepp has also served as honorary chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner as well as the Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan’s Annual Salute to Distinguished Warriors Dinner. He was recognized for his philanthropic work at the Annual Bates Street Society Dinner at the Community House.

Loepp also serves on the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association board and the board of the National Institute for Health Care Management.
