Detroit Pistons host "Season of Giving" holiday events throughout Detroit

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Pistons will spread holiday cheer around the Detroit area throughout the month of December as part of the Detroit Pistons’ “Season of Giving” presented by Meijer.

“Season of Giving” festivities tip-off on Dec. 9 with a shopping spree at the Nike store in Downtown Detroit with PeacePlayers International, an organization that uses basketball to unite, educate and inspire young people to create a more peaceful world. Pistons players Tobias Harris, Ish Smith, Luke Kennard, Henry Ellenson and Reggie Bullock will be on hand to help 62 youngsters from PeacePlayers select holiday presents to celebrate the season.

Stanley Johnson will continue his commitment to the Building Bridges Through Basketball Program and RISE by surprising the participants in the program with a holiday treat on Dec. 11. Johnson, who has attended multiple sessions during the 10-week program designed to bridge the gap between inter-city youth and police, will participate in the day’s module, host a pizza party, pass our t-shirts and provide the kids tickets to the Dec. 12 game vs. Denver to sit in Johnson’s player charity ticket section.

The festivities continue on Dec. 17 with Andre Drummond, Avery Bradley and Anthony Tolliver’s Adopt-A-Family post-game dinner and toy giveaway at Little Caesars Arena. Ten Detroit families have been adopted by the Pistons trio and have been invited to watch the Pistons take on the Orlando Magic. The families will then receive a surprise dinner in the Heritage Hall at Little Caesars Arena and gifts from the players.
