Detroit
DETROIT-
Pistons
host
their
second
back-to-back
home
game
against
the
Brooklyn
Nets.
Friday,
the
Pistons
suffered
from a
112-125
loss
against
the
Memphis
Grizzlies.
Pistons
have
lost six
of their
last 10
games,
and with
the NBA
All-Star
break a
few
weeks
away,
the
Pistons
are
currently
in the
ninth
seed of
the
Eastern
Conference
with the
Brooklyn
Nets in
the
eighth
seed.
Detroit
Piston’s
Head
Coach
Dwane
Casey
elaborates
on how
to
correct
the
team’s
defense
before
the
game.
Casey
said, “I
think
one is
communication.
A lot of
times,
guys are
not sure
what to
say, so
they
don’t
say
anything
but say
something.
Whatever
our
coverage
is, we
have to
say it
continuously
and loud
over and
over
again. I
think
that is
one area
that we
lack in
our
communication
in those
situations.”
Brooklyn
beat the
Pistons
111-121
to snap
their
five-game
losing
streak.
Piston’s
Center
Andre
Drummond
recorded
a
double-double
in the
first
quarter
with 11
points
and 10
rebounds,
but
Brooklyn
would
lead
over the
pistons
25-26 at
the end
of the
first
quarter.
At
halftime,
the
Pistons
were
ahead of
the Nets
60-50.
To
start
the
second
half,
Nets
Guard
Kyrie
Irving
started
the
quarter
with 12
points.
Irving
scored
17
points
in the
quarter
giving
the Nets
a 77-80
lead
over the
pistons.
Irving
ends the
quarter
with 29
points.
Piston’s
Guard
Derrick
Rose hit
the
game-tying
field
goal
with
just 1.9
seconds
left in
regulation,
tying
the game
at
106-106.
Rose
had 22
points
at the
end of
regulation.
After
the
failed
attempt
to win
the game
from
Brooklyn's
Kyrie
Irving,
the game
went
into
Overtime.
Irving
scored
41
points
by the
end of
regulation.
“I
think
Langston
did a
great
job on
guarding
him, but
it's
tough
finding
a guy
that has
the
length
and that
can move
his feet
to guard
a guy
like
him.
That’s
why he
is one
of the
best,”
said
Casey on
guarding
Kyrie
Irving.
Pistons
were
outscored
in
overtime
by the
Nets
going on
a 15-5
run to
end the
game.
Piston’s
Andre
Drummond
finished
the game
with 20
points
and 21
rebounds,
but it
was
Irving’s
45
points
that
lead the
Nets to
victory.
Pistons
Guard
Bruce
Brown
made a
statement
on the
team’s
overtime
loss on
Saturday.
Brown
said,
“We did
not
execute
well in
overtime.
We
didn’t
hit
shots,
and the
team is
off a
back-to-back,
so I
guess we
are a
little
out of
gas.”
Piston's
next
home
game
will be
Monday
against
the
Cleveland
Cavaliers.
