DETROIT – Rocket Companies to Celebrate Detroit’s Rich Jazz History Through Signature Series

The 2024 Detroit Jazz Festival, known as the world's largest event of its kind, will feature a curated series sponsored by Rocket Companies, furthering their support for the city's jazz legacy.

Chris Collins, President and Artistic Director of the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation, has created the Detroit Signature Series to commemorate the city's jazz history and showcase emerging and well-known local musicians over four days. Joining several headliners will be the Detroit Jazz Festival Orchestra, featuring some of the best orchestral talent in Detroit.

With the goal of promoting Detroit and offering an enriching cultural experience, Rocket Companies has been a devoted sponsor of the Detroit Jazz Festival for 13 consecutive years. With over 300,000 in-person attendees and an estimated 1.5 million global livestream viewers from nearly 25 countries, the 2023 Detroit Jazz Festival was a huge success.

In the words of Laura Grannemann, Executive Director of the Rocket Community Fund, the Detroit Jazz Festival is a cherished tradition that not only pays homage to jazz musicians from all over but also showcases the dynamic nature of our city. Every year, the Jazz Fest attracts a worldwide crowd to downtown Detroit.

The Detroit Signature Series artists were chosen based on an open application process.

“Jazz and Detroit have historically shared a very special relationship…many legendary jazz artists have come from the rich, diverse culture of Detroit and gone on to shape the very fabric of this music,” said Collins. “The Detroit Jazz Festival is honored and thankful for the longtime support of Rocket Companies and their mission to celebrate Detroit and its musicianship by featuring many artists who were born in Detroit or those who choose to make Detroit their home.”
