	City to share details on upcoming expansion of solid waste collection By HB Meeks tellusdetroit.com DETROIT - Starting from June 1st, Detroit residents can expect a significant change in their solid waste collection service, with an increased level of service, according to the recently approved trash hauler contracts by the City of Detroit Department of Public Works. Public Works Director Ron Brundidge stated that the contracts signed with Waste Management and the new vendor Priority Waste will allow for the weekly collection of recycling, yard waste, and bulk items, along with trash, instead of the previous bi-weekly collection. Moreover, the new contracts also include expanding services to collect trash containers on connector side streets and collecting household construction materials.
