- Audio
Engineers
of
Detroit
(AED)
has
partnered
with
Ferris
State
University,
enabling
AED
students
to
receive
university
credit
for
their
coursework.
This
agreement
creates
a
seamless
pathway
for
students
to
pursue
Ferris
State's
Bachelor
of
Science
in
Television
and
Digital
Media
Production
(TDMP)
degree,
enhancing
their
education
and
career
opportunities
in the
audio
and
digital
media
industries.
The
collaboration,
initiated
by Robin
Kinnie,
CEO and
President
of AED,
and Glen
Okonoski,
Director
of
Ferris
State's
School
of
Digital
Media,
emerged
from
discussions
within
the
Michigan
Association
of
Broadcasters.
Okonoski
noted
that
AED's
coursework
provides
advanced
training
in audio
content
creation,
aligning
well
with
Ferris
State's
TDMP
program.
Under
this
agreement,
AED
students
can
transfer
their
credits
to
Ferris
State's
TDMP
program,
which
boasts a
history
of
successful
alumni
in
various
sectors,
including
freelance,
corporate,
and
governmental
video
production.
Notable
alumni
include
Lindsay
Pepper,
a
two-time
Primetime
Emmy
winner
and
Golden
Reel
Award
recipient
known
for her
work as
a Foley
artist.
Moreover,
Ferris
State
and AED
are
exploring
ways to
make
Ferris's
Broadcast
Engineering
minor
available
to AED
students.
This
initiative
aligns
with
Ferris
State
President
Bill
Pink's
vision
of
attracting
more
students
from
Detroit
and its
surrounding
areas.
Robin
Kinnie
emphasized
that
this
partnership
is not
only
about
teaching
skills
but also
about
unlocking
potential,
fostering
creativity,
and
shaping
the
future
of the
music
and
technology
industries.

for
prospective
students
to
explore
its
facilities,
meet
instructors,

learn
more
about
its
programs.
The next
classes
begin in
March
and
September
2025,
with
both day

evening
options
available
to
accommodate
different
schedules.
