  2025 Southwest Detroit Business Association Annual Breakfast Celebrates Community Growth and Diversity

DETROIT - On October 3, the 2025 Southwest Detroit Business Association (SDBA) annual breakfast, themed “Building Beyond the Bridge,” brought together over 200 business and community leaders at The Corner Ballpark. Sponsored by Bank of America, this year’s gathering commemorated nearly 70 years of service by the association while shining a spotlight on local investment and community growth.

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans captivated attendees with an inspiring keynote address, and Chuck Stokes of WXYZ-TV expertly guided the program as master of ceremonies.

Held during Hispanic Heritage Month, the event served as a vibrant celebration of Southwest Detroit’s rich multicultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit. The SDBA recognized outstanding contributions to the community with awards presented by for community investment, real estate development, business development, and relentless leadership commitment.

The event was generously supported by sponsors including Bank of America, Marathon Petroleum, Huntington Bank, Alliance Catholic Credit Union, and Detroit Cristo Rey High School. This annual breakfast not only fostered vital networking among public officials, business leaders, and advocates but also highlighted key strategies for regional growth, main street revitalization, and advocacy for the diverse businesses and residents of Southwest Detroit.
