has
named
Tarsha

its new
Executive
Director.
“Tarsha
brings a
wealth
of
experience
in
leading
strategic
initiatives
that
dismantle
systemic
barriers
and pave
pathways
to
success,
making
her a
tremendous
asset to
Brilliant
Detroit
and the
families
we
serve,”
said
Co-Founder
and CEO,
Cindy
Eggleton.
“Her
deep
passion
for our
mission—anchored
in
equity,
inclusion,
and an
unwavering
belief
in the
potential
of every
child
and
family—makes
her the
ideal
leader
for this
next
chapter.”
Gale
comes to
Brilliant
Detroit
with
more
than a
decade
of
mission-driven
leadership,
most
recently
as
Executive
Branch
Director
of
Bethany
Christian
Services
–
Southeast
Michigan.
In that
role,
she
spearheaded
the
strategic
expansion
of
foster
care,
adoption,
and
family
preservation
services,
securing
new
funding,
strengthening
infrastructure,
and
fostering
critical
community
partnerships.
Her
diverse
background
includes
experience
as a
Psychotherapist
and
Licensing
Certification
Specialist
for the
State of
Michigan
Department
of Human
Services.
She
holds
dual
master’s
degrees
in
counseling,
psychology,
and
human
development
from
Wayne
State
University,
along
with a
Certificate
in

Mental
Health.
Cindy
Eggleton,
who has
led
Brilliant
Detroit
since
2016—growing
it to
serve
over
26,000
children
and
caregivers
across
24
neighborhoods—will
now
fully
transition
to
Brilliant
Cities,
the
national
umbrella
organization
launched
in
September
2024.
Brilliant
Cities
expands
the work
of
Brilliant
Detroit
to new
communities
and will
debut in
Philadelphia
later
this
year. In
her new
role,
Eggleton
will
collaborate
closely
with
Gale as
Brilliant
Detroit
scales
across
the
city,
driving
meaningful
impact
in early
childhood
outcomes.
Michael
R.
Tyson,
Chair of
the
Brilliant
Detroit
Board of
Trustees,
expressed
his
enthusiasm
for
Gale’s
leadership,
stating,
“Tarsha
is
taking
the helm
of an
organization
committed
to
rejecting
the
status
quo in
favor of
transformative
change—built
with,
for, and
by our
neighbors.”
Reflecting
on her
journey,
Eggleton
added,
“Brilliant
Detroit
began as
a dream,
and
witnessing
it
become a
reality
has been
the most
purposeful
work of
my
life.”
Both
Eggleton
and
Tyson
look
forward
to
supporting
Gale as
she
steps
into
this
role,
leading
an
organization
that
remains
steadfast
in its
mission
to grow,
evolve,
and
drive
lasting
impact.
Meanwhile,
Eggleton
and the
Brilliant
Cities
team
remain
dedicated
to
scaling
this
Detroit-born
model to
communities
nationwide.
