DETROIT - Earlier today, Detroit marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of the Cathedral Arts Apartments and the M Training Center at 9844 Woodward Avenue. City leaders, representatives from the Archdiocese of Detroit, MHT Housing Inc., Citizens Bank, and community members gathered for a press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the Gateway Community.

This $19.7 million development brings 53 deeply affordable housing units to the city, providing much-needed homes for Detroit residents. Alongside the new apartments, the M Training Center was officially launched. This state-of-the-art workforce hub, made possible in part by a $500,000 contribution from Citizens Bank, offers Detroiters a four-week, paid, hands-on training program in property maintenance and multifamily housing. Graduates receive job placement support, helping to create new career pathways and economic opportunities for local residents.

“This way of understanding our community is an important component of our work to grow our Cathedral into an Apostolic Center of Arts and Culture that will provide arts, culture, education, and service opportunities,” said Father J.J. Mech, rector of the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in an earlier statement. (Photo by HB Meeks/Tell Us USA News Network)
