Earlier
today,
Detroit
marked a
significant
milestone
with the
grand
opening
of the
Cathedral
Arts
Apartments
and the
M
Training
Center
at 9844
Woodward
Avenue.
City
leaders,
representatives
from the
Archdiocese
of
Detroit,
MHT
Housing
Inc.,
Citizens
Bank,
and
community
members
gathered
for a
press
conference
and
ribbon-cutting
ceremony
in the
Gateway
Community.
This
$19.7
million
development
brings
53
deeply
affordable
housing
units to
the
city,
providing
much-needed
homes
for
Detroit
residents.
Alongside
the new
apartments,
the M
Training
Center
was
officially
launched.
This
state-of-the-art
workforce
hub,
made
possible
in part
by a
$500,000
contribution
from
Citizens
Bank,
offers
Detroiters
a
four-week,
paid,
hands-on
training
program
in
property
maintenance
and
multifamily
housing.
Graduates
receive
job
placement
support,
helping
to
create
new
career
pathways
and
economic
opportunities
for
local
residents.
