DETROIT
- The
Detroit
Veterans
Day
Parade
returns
on
Sunday,
November
9, 2025,
featuring
tanks,
trucks,
floats,
and
about
2,000
veterans
and
their
families
in a
large
regional
tribute
to the
sacrifices
and
service
of
America’s
veterans.
The
parade
is part
of the
20th
annual
Armed
Services
Salute
and will
kick off
with an
opening
ceremony
at 9:45
a.m.,
emceed
by Fox-2
meteorologist
and Gulf
War
veteran
Rich
Luterman.
Commander
Kimberly
Napoleon,
Michigan
Commander's
Group
Veteran
of the
Year for
2024-2025,
will be
the
Grand
Marshal.
The
parade
begins
at 11:00
a.m. at
IBEW
Local
58, 1358
Abbott
Street
in
Detroit’s
Corktown
neighborhood,
proceeding
along
Trumbull
and
Michigan
Avenue,
with
prime
viewing
spots
including
Michigan
Avenue
and
Roosevelt
Park
near
16th
Street.
Spectators
can
expect
participation
from
over 60
organizations,
including
at least
12 JROTC
units,
four
high
school
marching
bands,
and
historical
groups
like the
Rosie
the
Riveters.
There
may also
be a
helicopter
flyover
from
Selfridge
Air
Force
Base.
The day
includes
the 10th
annual
4Star
4Mile
Race
starting
alongside
the
parade
route,
welcoming
runners
and
walkers
of all
ages and
fitness
levels
to honor
veterans.
Registration
is
available
online.
Special
recognition
will be
given
during
the
opening
ceremony,
including
to Steve
Corl, a
Clinical
Nurse
Manager
at John
D.
Dingell
Veterans
Administration,
for his
service
to the
veteran
community.
This
family-friendly
event
aims to
connect
veterans
and
civilians
through
community
pride
and
gratitude,
making
it the
largest
Veterans
Day
tribute
event in
the
Detroit
region.
