DETROIT – MyFlight Tours, Michigan’s leading helicopter tour company, has officially begun construction on its new 12,000-square-foot headquarters at Coleman A. Young International Airport. This represents the first commercial development at the airport in more than 60 years and a significant step for Detroit’s East Side.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by city officials, community representatives, and aviation enthusiasts. Remarks were delivered by Mayor Mike Duggan, Councilwoman Latisha Johnson, and Airport Director Jason Watt, all emphasizing the project's potential for the airport and the surrounding area.

"Sergio and Cassandra saw the potential of Coleman Young Airport early on, and their commitment has played a role in its revitalization," said Mayor Duggan. "We’re proud to see MyFlight growing here in Detroit."

Founded in 2019 by Sergio and Cassandra Troiani, MyFlight has grown into a multi-state operation serving thousands of passengers. This new headquarters will be their first custom-built facility, enabling expanded services and improved amenities.

"This isn’t just about a building—it’s about enhancing the way people experience Detroit and aviation," said Sergio Troiani, Owner and Founder of MyFlight.

The facility, set to open in late 2025, will feature helicopter tours alongside additional offerings, such as a bar, an outdoor patio, and event spaces for special occasions. MyFlight aims to create a destination that combines aviation with a unique social experience.

"This project is about connecting people to the skies while strengthening our community," said Cassandra Troiani, Co-Owner of MyFlight.

MyFlight remains committed to its current operations during construction, ensuring uninterrupted service from its existing terminal at Coleman A. Young International Airport.

"MyFlight’s investment underscores their dedication to Detroit and the airport’s future," said Jason Watt, Airport Director.

The groundbreaking celebrates a key milestone in MyFlight’s journey and highlights the ongoing revitalization of Detroit’s aviation landscape.
