2023,

and
their
families
for
their
commitment
to
coming
to
school
each day
and
highlighted
the
impact
exceptional

has on
students’
education
and
success.
For the
eighth
consecutive
year,
with the
exception
of
school
closings
during
the
Covid-19
pandemic,
Joe
Lunghamer
Chevrolet
has
supported
this
program.
Joe
Lunghamer,
president/owner,
and
Regina,
“The
Queen of
Car
Loans”
of Joe
Lunghamer
Chevrolet
along
with
Kelley
Williams,

“Maintaining
exceptional
attendance
is
imperative
for the
success
of our
students,”
said
Kelley
Williams.
“We are
grateful
for Joe
Lunghamer
and his
team in
partnering
with us
on this
program.
Getting
to
school
each day
can be
challenging,
due to a
variety
of
circumstances.
The
incentive
and fun
competition
between
students
brings
added
motivation
to make
it to
school
every
day.
Seeing
the
pride
our kids
and
families
feel in
not only
achieving
their
goal,
but
being
rewarded
for it
is
priceless.”
Each
year,
Joe
Lunghamer
and his
team,
partner
with the
school
district
to
execute
a
year-long
attendance
incentive
designed
to
stress
the
importance
of
coming
to
school
every
day. The
relationship
between
attendance
and
student
success
is a
vital
one.
According
to the
National
Center
for
Education
Statistics,
students
who
attend
school
regularly
have
been
shown to
achieve
at
higher
levels
than
students
who do
not have
regular
attendance.
A
child’s
regular
attendance
in
school
may be
the
greatest
factor
influencing
academic
success.
“We are
honored
to have
this
relationship
with the
Pontiac
School
District,”
said Joe
Lunghamer.
“It is
important
to us as
a local
business
to be
able to
serve
our
community
beyond
the
walls of
our
dealership.
We enjoy
having
the
opportunity
to have
a direct
and
positive
impact
to
support
a great
program
designed
to keep
our
youth in
school
and on a
solid
educational
track.
Congratulations
also go
out to
the
parents
and
family
caregivers
for
getting
their
students
to
school
on a
daily
basis.
We look
forward
to
continuing
to grow
this
partnership
with the
Pontiac
School
District.”
This
program
is one
of
several
initiatives
the
Lunghamer
team has
partnered
with the
Pontiac
School
District
on over
the past
several
years.
In the
2022-2023
school
year,
they
also
launched
a
“Random
Acts of
Goodness”
program
in which
Joe
Lunghamer
and
Regina
“The
Queen of
Car
Loans”
Woodard
visited
each
school
in the
district
to
surprise
a
student
and
staff
member
with a
gift
card
honoring
them
with
gratitude
for who
they are
and what
they
bring to
the
school
each
day. The
awardees
were
selected
by their
schools
and were
often
unsung
heroes.
The
surprises
were
broadcast
on
Facebook
as
colleagues
and
peers
cheered
the
winners
on.
These
visits
have
proven
to boost
morale
across
the
district
in a
time
when
education
across
the
country
has been
faced
with
numerous
challenges.
Additional
contributions
from the
dealership
include,
but are
not
limited
to,
reading
to
various
classrooms
during
National
Reading
Month,
providing
desk
shields
for
classrooms
during
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
staff
appreciation
support,
and
pulling
out the
stops to
assist a
PSD
staff
member
in
getting
a new
vehicle
when his
was
stolen.
