The 2024
Biden Harris
campaign
focusing
on
ground
strategies
in the
critical
battleground
state of
Michigan

DETROIT
- In
early
May,
Vice
President
Kamala
Harris
visited
Detroit,
demonstrating
her
commitment
to
understanding
the
needs
and
expectations
of the
residents.
This
visit
was her
second
to the
city in
a short
period,
a
testament
to the
importance
of
Michigan
in the
upcoming
presidential
election
in
November.
More
visits
to the
Motor
City in
the
future
will
highlight
the
value
and
significance
of our
supporters
in
Michigan.
In a
recent
interview
with
Julie
Chavez,
Rodriguez,
the
Biden-Harris
Campaign
Manager,
emphasized
the
"crucial
role of
the
people
of
Michigan
in this
election."
"We
see this
election
as so
critically
important
for
Michiganders
because
President
Biden
and Vice
President
Harris
have
been
able to
deliver
so much
for the
state
and so
many of
our
communities,
Rodriguez
stated."
During
this
recent
conversation,
Rodriguez
underscored
the
personal
connection
between
President
Biden
and the
people
of
Michigan.
She
highlighted
the fact
that the
President
has
played a
crucial
role in
generating
over 15
million
jobs
across
the
country,
with
almost
390,000
of them
being
created
in
Michigan
alone.
"This is
a
significant
feat,
and we
should
acknowledge
the
positive
impact
it has
had on
the
local
economy.
Biden
has
shown a
keen
interest
in
supporting
black
and
brown-owned
businesses,
as his
administration
has
recorded
an
all-time
high in
the
formation
of small
businesses
as
well,"
Rodriguez
said.
President
Biden
has
taken
steps to
continue
expanding
access
to the
Affordable
Care Act
and
ensure
that Big
Pharma
keeps
the cost
of
insulin
to $35
or
lower,
which is
a
crucial
development.
These
policies
have
benefited
almost 2
million
seniors
living
in
Michigan,
thanks
to the
efforts
of the
President
and Vice
President.
One of
the
significant
questions
is, what
do
average
everyday
citizens
want
President
Biden to
know?
Here's
an
example:
"President
Biden
has
accomplished
much in
his 4
years,"
said
Edith
Clifton,
a PR
executive.
"During
his next
term, I
would
like to
see
strong
voter
rights
legislation,
two more
Supreme
Court
justices
appointed,
including
a black
male to
balance
the
Clarence
Thomas
disaster.
I also
hope to
see
Kamala
Harris
given
higher
profile
responsibility,
and the
Lewis
Voting
Act
strongly
advocated
for. I
would
like to
see the
President
appointing
more
Supreme
Court
justices,
including
a black
male, to
protect
the
Voting
Act."
Since
the
launch
of the
Biden-Harris
campaign
in
Michigan,
the
campaign
has
established
thirty
field
offices
throughout
the
state,
including
three in
Detroit
and
locations
in
Saginaw
and
Flint.
The
campaign
is
actively
hiring
organizers
to
ensure
that
there is
a team
in place
to
engage
with
voters
in-person
and
online,
train
volunteers,
and
ensure
that
every
vote
counts
in this
election.
The
campaign
recognizes
that
this
election
will be
a close
one, and
it will
require
the
active
participation
of
everyone
to show
up and
vote.
Your
engagement
is
crucial
and will
make a
difference.
President
joe
Biden
will
return
to
Detroit
to
deliver
the
Keynote
Speach
at the
Detroit
Branch
NAACP
will
hold the
69th
Annual
Fight
For
Freedom
Fund
Dinner
on
Sunday,
May 19,
at
Huntington
Place.
