returns
to
Downtown
Detroit
this
weekend,
transforming
the city
into a
vibrant
festival
of
world-class
racing,
automotive
excitement,
live
music,
and
family-friendly
activities.
Running
from May
30 to
June 1
on the
streets
of
Downtown
Detroit,
this
year’s
Grand
Prix
offers
expanded
free fan
zones,
live
concerts,
and more
viewing
options
for fans
of all
ages.
Now in
its
third
year
back in
the
heart of
the
Motor
City,
the
event
continues
to
innovate
with new
rooftop
vantage
points
and
immersive
experiences
for
attendees.
Kicking
off the
festivities
is
Comerica
Free
Prix Day
on
Friday,
May 30.
For the
12th
consecutive
year,
Comerica
Bank
invites
the
community
to enjoy
the
thrill
of the
Grand
Prix at
no cost
on
opening
day.
Gates
open at
8 a.m.
ET,
giving
fans
access
to all
three
racing
series:
the IMSA
WeatherTech
SportsCar
Championship,
the NTT
INDYCAR
SERIES,
and INDY
NXT by
Firestone.
Highlights
include
the
first
on-track
action
for all
series
and an
autograph
session
with
INDYCAR
drivers
at the
GM
Renaissance
Center
Wintergarden
from
12:30 to
1:30
p.m.
Friday
evening,
the
Grand
Prix
circuit
will
shift
gears
into the
inaugural
Detroit
Grand
Prix
Cruise
Night
presented
by the
Detroit
Auto
Show.
Over 100
classic
cars,
hot
rods,
and
muscle
machines
will
parade
the
track
and then
remain
on
display
from
6:30 to
8:30
p.m.,
welcoming
fans to
explore
these
automotive
icons
for
free.
Throughout
the
weekend,
racing
action
will be
non-stop,
featuring
Saturday’s
Chevrolet
Sports
Car
Classic,
Sunday’s
INDY NXT
by
Firestone
race,
and the
Chevrolet
INDYCAR
Grand
Prix.
Off-track,
fans can
enjoy a
variety
of
entertainment
and
activities:
The
Cadillac
Square
Entertainment
Stage,
presented
by
Priority,
hosts
two
high-energy
EDM
concerts
Saturday
night:
EVAN
GIIA at
6:15
p.m.
followed
by
GRYFFIN.
Three
major
fan
activation
zones—Woodward
Avenue,
Spirit
Plaza,
and Hart
Plaza—are
open to
the
public
all
weekend.
The
Meijer
Fan Zone
on
Woodward
offers
interactive
games,
free ice
cream,
and
appearances
by
Detroit
sports
legends,
while
the
Michigan
Science
Center
brings
hands-on
STEM
activities.
Hart
Plaza
features
racing
simulators,
giveaways
from
major
brands,
a kids’
Indy Car
experience,
official
merchandise,
panoramic
views
from the
Pratt
Miller
Patio,
and
daily
mountain
bike
stunt
shows by
Guinness
World
Record
holder
Andrei
Burton.
Fan
zones
are open
Friday
and
Saturday
from 8
a.m. to
6 p.m.,
and
Sunday
from 8
a.m. to
4 p.m.
The
Ilmor
Experience
Dock,
presented
by GM
Marine,
returns
to the
Detroit
Riverwalk
near
Turn 5,
offering
fans a
chance
to
explore
boats
from
MasterCraft
and
Formula,
as well
as Ilmor
Marine
engines.
This
free
area is
open
Friday
from 10
a.m. to
5 p.m.,
Saturday
from 9
a.m. to
6 p.m.,
and
Sunday
from
8:30
a.m. to
4 p.m.
Pratt
Miller
Motorsports,
America’s
most
decorated
sports
car
team,
will
showcase
its LMP2
and
Corvette
race
cars at
the
Pratt
Miller
Patio in
Hart
Plaza,
with a
special
meet-and-greet
with
Corvette
Racing
drivers
on
Sunday
from
11:45
a.m. to
12:15
p.m.
Food
lovers
can
sample
Detroit’s
best
food
trucks
and new
offerings
from
Andiamo
Catering.
Faygo,
the
official
pop of
the
Grand
Prix,
will be
at Hart
Plaza
with
free
samples,
fun
activities,
and new
flavors
to try.
Rooftop
viewing
expands
this
year
with
four
exclusive
locations:
Center
Garage
(Turns
4–7),
Port
Atwater
Garage
(Turns
8–9 and
pit
lane),
Franklin
Garage
(Turn 9
and pit
action),
and the
new
River
East
Garage
(finish
line,
pit
exit,
Turn 1).
Additional
platforms
enhance
the fan
experience
at these
spots.
After
Saturday’s
and
Sunday’s
main
events,
all fans
are
invited
to join
the
victory
celebrations
on Blue
Cross
Blue
Shield
of
Michigan
Pit
Lane,
where
they can
cheer on
the
winners
and
maybe
catch a
souvenir
hat at
the
Autotrader
Winner’s
Circle
on the
Franklin
Bridge.
This
year’s
Grand
Prix
promises
a
dynamic
blend of
speed,
entertainment,
and
community
spirit,
offering
something
for
every
fan in
the
heart of
Detroit.
The 35th
Grand
Prix
event in
the
City’s
history
will
return
to the
1.7-mile,
nine-turn
Streets
of
Downtown
Detroit
circuit
that
runs
along
the
award-winning
Detroit
Riverwalk,
