DETROIT
- The
Detroit
Lions
dominated
the
Tampa
Bay
Buccaneers
24-9 on
Monday
night,
with
running
back
Jahmyr
Gibbs
putting
on a
spectacular
show
with a
career-high
218
yards
from
scrimmage
and two
touchdowns.
Gibbs
had 136
yards
rushing
on 17
carries
and 82
yards
receiving
on three
catches,
becoming
the
first
NFL
player
since
Chris
Johnson
in 2009
to
record
at least
135
yards
rushing
and 80
yards
receiving
with two
rushing
touchdowns
in a
game. He
scored
on a
78-yard
sprint
in the
second
quarter
and
added a
5-yard
spinning
touchdown
in the
third
quarter.
Despite
missing
multiple
defensive
backs
due to
injuries
and
suspensions,
the
Lions
defense
held the
Buccaneers
to a
season-low
9 points
and just
252
total
yards
while
forcing
two
turnovers
and
three
turnovers
on
downs.
Jared
Goff
went 20
of 29
for 241
yards
with a
27-yard
touchdown
pass to
Amon-Ra
St.
Brown on
the
opening
drive,
though
he did
lose a
fumble
and
throw an
interception.
Tampa
Bay was
outgained
by more
than 200
yards in
the
first
half but
only
trailed
14-3
thanks
to
Detroit
mistakes.
Rookie
Tez
Johnson
had a
22-yard
touchdown
reception
to open
the
second
half,
pulling
Tampa
within
14-9,
but they
couldn't
slow
down
Gibbs.
The Bucs
also
lost
Mike
Evans to
a
concussion
and
broken
collarbone.
The
Lions
improved
to 5-2
and
extended
their
NFL-record
streak
to 51
games
without
losing
consecutive
regular
season
games.
