DETROIT
- The
Detroit
Lions
continued
their
impressive
season,
extending
their
winning
streak
to 10
games
with a
23-20
victory
over the
Chicago
Bears.
Jared
Goff
connected
with Sam
LaPorta
for two
touchdown
passes,
and Jake
Bates
contributed
three
field
goals in
the
first
half.
The
Lions
established
a strong
lead,
going up
16-0 at
halftime
and 23-7
after
three
quarters.
However,
they
faced a
late
comeback
attempt
from the
Bears.
Caleb
Williams,
the
rookie
quarterback
for
Chicago,
struggled
during
crucial
moments,
including
a missed
opportunity
to tie
the game
in the
final
seconds
after
being
sacked.
With the
win, the
Lions
improved
to 11-1,
setting
a
franchise
record
for wins
after 12
games.
In
contrast,
the
Bears
fell to
4-8,
marking
their
sixth
consecutive
loss.
Chicago's
coach,
Matt
Eberflus,
acknowledged
the
team's
difficulties
in close
games,
noting
his win
rate is
only
22.7%.
Detroit
started
the game
strong,
while
Chicago
failed
to
achieve
a first
down on
its
first
four
drives.
Williams
managed
to throw
two
touchdown
passes
to
Keenan
Allen,
but the
Bears
ultimately
came up
short.
Detroit
also
missed
an
opportunity
to
extend
their
lead
when
Bates
missed a
field
goal
after a
penalty
on
Jameson
Williams,
who
later
apologized
for his
actions.
