— The
Rocket
Classic
Presented
by
AlumniFi
will
return
to
Detroit
Golf
Club
from
July
30-Aug.
2 with a
slate of
new fan
activations,
entertainment
options
and
family-friendly
amenities
designed
to
expand
the
tournament
experience
beyond
the
course.
Tournament
organizers
announced
Wednesday
that
this
year’s
event
will
include
the
debut of
Rocket
Dream
Nine, an
immersive
nine-hole
mini
golf
activation
spread
across
three
sites on
the
restored
Detroit
Golf
Club
layout.
The fan
zones
will
highlight
Detroit’s
design,
music
and food
culture
near the
No. 2
green,
No. 5
tee and
No. 11
green.
A new
gathering
space,
The
Range
presented
by
Bedrock,
will
also
open
Thursday
through
Sunday
from 11
a.m. to
6 p.m.
The area
will
include
a
covered
lounge,
bar
service,
Adirondack
chair
viewing,
a cigar
lounge,
a
hole-in-one
challenge
and
family
activities
such as
caricature
artists
and face
painters.
Live
entertainment
will
continue
at the
Motown
Museum
Music
Stage,
where
Hitsville
NEXT and
other
local
artists
are
scheduled
to
perform
from 4
p.m. to
7 p.m.
Thursday
through
Saturday
after
tournament
play.
Food and
beverage
offerings
will
include
returning
specialty
items
tied to
tournament
champions,
including
the A.P.
Gatsby
Sandwich
inspired
by 2025
winner
Aldrich
Potgieter.
Fans can
also
visit
The
Grove
near
holes 10
and 11,
where
Detroit-based
Smokey
G’s
Smokehouse
will
serve
menu
favorites
and the
AlumniFi
Zone
will
feature
putting
challenges
and
prize
giveaways.
For
adults
21 and
older,
the
event
will
offer
the
Espresso
Martini
Lounge
near the
ninth
green
and the
Classic
Caddie
cocktail
served
in a
souvenir
cup.
During
Rocket
Classic
Power
Hour,
alcoholic
drinks
at
public
concession
stands
will be
discounted
by
$3.13, a
nod to
Detroit’s
313 area
code.
Families
will
have
access
to
additional
perks,
including
complimentary
meal
vouchers
for
children
15 and
under
courtesy
of
United
Dairy of
Michigan.
Charity
Row will
spotlight
local
nonprofit
partners
including
Black
Tech
Saturdays,
Human-I-T,
First
Tee –
Greater
Detroit,
College,
Career &
Beyond |
Midnight
Golf,
the
Detroit
Police
Athletic
League
and
People
for
Palmer
Park.
Fans
will
also be
able to
test
their
game at
the Long
Game
Lounge
presented
by
Plante
Moran
Wealth
Management
and
browse
new
vendors
at the
Rocket
Classic
Merchandise
Tent.
Wednesday,
July 29,
will be
marked
as
Detroit
Community
Day,
with
complimentary
parking
and
admission
for the
Delta
Dental
Pro-Am
and a
youth
clinic
hosted
by First
Tee –
Greater
Detroit.
Thursday’s
opening
round
will be
Bow Tie
Day,
honoring
the
memory
of Nick
Gilbert
and
raising
awareness
for
neurofibromatosis.
Rocket
also
plans
heat-relief
amenities
including
Cool
Zones
and
water
stations
throughout
the
course,
along
with
expanded
viewing
areas
around
the 18th
green
for
grounds
pass
holders.
