Thorbjornsen, 24, surged past a star-studded field that included major champions and multiple top-10 players, carding rounds of 69-64-66-63 for a 262 total. Xander Schauffele finished alone in second at 16 under (264), while Davis Riley took solo third at 15 under (265). Rasmus Højgaard placed fourth at 14 under (266), and a three-way tie for fifth featured Hideki Matsuyama, Matt Wallace and Kristoffer Ventura at 13 under (267). Entering the final round behind leader Davis Riley, Thorbjornsen methodically climbed the leaderboard before pulling clear late Sunday. He hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation during his final-round 63 and capped the win with a 26-foot birdie putt on No. 18, punctuating a breakthrough performance in only his sophomore PGA Tour season. The Rocket Classic carried a $10 million purse, with the winner’s share at $1.8 million. Thorbjornsen also earned 500 FedExCup points for the victory, a significant boost as the tour moves toward the playoffs. Sunday’s conclusion marked the eighth and final running of the PGA Tour’s Detroit event after Rocket Companies declined to exercise its option for 2027, ending the tournament’s modern run that began in 2019. Thorbjornsen becomes the last champion in that era, joining previous winners such as 2025 titlist Aldrich Potgieter and 2024 repeat winner Cameron Davis.
