DETROIT - The Detroit Pistons gathered at the Pistons Performance Center on Monday for their annual media day, marking the official start of preparations for the 2025-26 season. The event brought players, coaches, and staff together as the franchise looks to continue building momentum in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Isaiah Stewart headlined the team's media day content, taking reporters on a tour while showcasing his readiness for the upcoming campaign. The energetic big man, known affectionately as "Beef Stew," emphasized his commitment to helping Detroit make another playoff push.

The Pistons are looking to build off last season and keep rising in the Eastern Conference hierarchy, coming off what many consider a breakthrough year for the young franchise. The team participated in media day alongside 24 other NBA teams preparing for the new season.

Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, entering his second season with the franchise, made headlines with his candid assessment of an area needing improvement. When asked about what he personally needs to work on, Bickerstaff immediately addressed his interactions with officials and the team's technical foul problem.

The Pistons led the NBA in technical fouls per game last season, with Bickerstaff himself contributing to the issue. Isaiah Stewart ranked 6th in the league with 15 technical fouls despite being a bench player averaging just 20 minutes per game. Cade Cunningham (10), Malik Beasley (9), and Dennis Schroder (8) also ranked among the league's top 15.

Bickerstaff acknowledged the need for better communication with referees and picking his spots more effectively rather than constantly arguing calls. The coach emphasized that while there's a time and place for technical fouls, too many can shift momentum and cost games, especially on the road.

Media day serves as the official kickoff to the NBA calendar, with training camps set to begin tomorrow. Players posed for photos, conducted interviews, and reconnected with teammates as they gear up for what promises to be an exciting season in Motor City.

The Pistons will look to their core players to lead the way as they aim to improve their standing in a competitive Eastern Conference. With youth and athleticism on their side, Detroit is positioning itself as a team on the rise.

The 2025-26 NBA season is rapidly approaching, and based on the energy at the Pistons Performance Center on Monday, Detroit is ready to make noise.
