DETROIT - NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas has shared that he is recovering from Bell’s palsy, a condition causing temporary facial muscle weakness.

The 63-year-old revealed his diagnosis on The Mark Jackson Show on YouTube, explaining the changes in his appearance. “I’ve been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. I appreciate all the prayers and support,” he said.

Thomas later addressed the condition on NBA TV, thanking fans for their encouragement. “I’m showing up and staying active, and I appreciate your prayers during this time,” he shared. He also posted on social media, expressing gratitude for continued support.

Known as “Zeke,” Thomas is a 12-time All-Star who led the Detroit Pistons to back-to-back championships during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Retiring in 1994, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000 and has since built a successful career as a basketball analyst.

The NBA has yet to comment on the news.
