MI – The
Detroit
Pistons
have
announced
that
J.B.
Bickerstaff
will be
joining
the
organization
as head
coach.
Bickerstaff
brings
20 years
of NBA
coaching
experience
and most
recently
served
as head
coach
for the
Cleveland
Cavaliers,
achieving
playoff
appearances
and
strong
defensive
rankings.
Pistons
owner
Tom
Gores
and
President
of
Basketball
Operations
Trajan
Langdon
expressed
confidence
in
Bickerstaff's
ability
to lead
the team
and
develop
players.
Bickerstaff
looks
forward
to
building
a
competitive
team in
Detroit.
Before
coaching
in
Cleveland,
J.B.
Bickerstaff
had
coaching
stints
with the
Memphis
Grizzlies,
Houston
Rockets,
Minnesota
Timberwolves,
and the
Charlotte
Bobcats.
Bickerstaff
also
worked
in the
University
of
Minnesota's
men's
basketball
program.
He has a
strong
background
in
coaching
and also
had a
collegiate
playing
career.
He is
from
Denver
and has
three
children
with his
wife,
Nikki.
