pushed

ET, the
Seattle
Mariners
bounced
back
strong
at
Comerica
Park in
Detroit,
taking
Game 3
and a
2-1
series
lead.
Pitching
Matchup
Logan
Gilbert
made his
playoff
debut
for the
Mariners
against
Tigers
right-hander
Jack
Flaherty.
Gilbert
was
excellent,
allowing
just one
run on
four
hits
with
seven
strikeouts
and a
hit
batter
over six
innings.
Flaherty
struggled,
lasting
just 3 ⅓
innings
while
surrendering
four
runs
(three
earned)
on four
hits
with
three
walks
and six
strikeouts
on 76
pitches.

Breaks
Through
Early
The
Mariners
struck
in the
third
inning
when
Victor
Robles
led off
with a
double
to the
left
field
corner.
J.P.
Crawford
followed
with a
single
to
center,
but when
Tigers
center
fielder
Riley
Greene's
throw
home got
away
from
catcher
Dillon
Dingler,
Robles
raced
home for
a 1-0
lead.
Randy
Arozarena
then
singled
to drive
in
Crawford,
who had
advanced
on the
error,
making
it 2-0.
Mariners
Pile On
In the
fourth
inning,
Eugenio
Suárez
crushed
a solo
homer to
left
field
off
Flaherty
for a
3-0
lead.
After
Flaherty
walked
Dominic
Canzone,
Tigers
manager
A.J.
Hinch
went to
his
bullpen,
bringing
in Tommy
Kahnle.
Cal
Raleigh
delivered
an RBI
single
through
the
infield
to score
Canzone
and
extend
the lead
to 4-0.
J.P.
Crawford
added a
solo
home run
in the
sixth
inning
off
left-hander

Hurter -
notably
the
first
home run

The
Tigers
mounted
a
spirited
ninth-inning
comeback
attempt
against
Mariners
reliever
Caleb
Ferguson.
Jake
Rogers
and
Jahmai
Jones
reached
base
before
Spencer
Torkelson
doubled
to
right-center,
scoring
both
runs.
Andy
Ibáñez
followed
with an
RBI
single
to make
it 8-4.
However,
closer
Andrés
Muñoz
came in
and
slammed
the
door,
getting
Dillon
Dingler
to fly
out
before
Parker
Meadows
lined
into a
double
play to
end the
game.
Series

With the
victory,
Seattle
takes a
2-1
series
lead and
will
look to
advance
to the
ALCS
with a
win in
Game 4
on
