ANN
ARBOR,
Mich. -
The
Michigan
Wolverines
welcomed
the
Central
Michigan
Chippewas
to
Michigan
Stadium
on
Saturday
for a
non-conference
matchup
that
marked
an
important
test for
both
programs
as they
head
toward
their
respective
conference
seasons.
The game
kicked
off at
noon ET
and was
televised
on Big
Ten
Network,
featuring
Jeff
Levering
on
play-by-play,
Jake
Butt
providing
color
commentary,
and
Brooke
Fletcher
as the
sideline
reporter.
Both
teams
entered
the
contest
with
identical
1-1
records,
making
this a
crucial
early-season
matchup
for
momentum
heading
into
conference
play.
The
Wolverines,
ranked
No.
23/22 in
the
polls,
were
looking
to
bounce
back
after
their
recent
struggles.
Michigan's
ground
game
proved
to be
every
bit as
dominant
as
expected,
with the
Wolverines
controlling
the line
of
scrimmage
from the
opening
drive.
Running
back
Justice
Haynes
lived up
to his
billing
as "one
of the
best
runners
in
college
football,"
helping
lead an
offensive
onslaught
that
piled up
points
throughout
the
afternoon.
The 63-3
final
score
represented
one of
the most
lopsided
victories
in
recent
Michigan
history
and
served
as a
statement
win for
head
coach
Sherrone
Moore's
program.
The
Wolverines
scored
touchdowns
in
bunches
while
completely
shutting
down
Central
Michigan's
offensive
attack,
holding
the
Chippewas
to just
a field
goal.
For
Central
Michigan,
what was
supposed
to be
"the
final
leg of a
season-opening
three-part
road
trip"
turned
into a
nightmare
scenario
in the
Big
House.
The
Chippewas
were
completely
overmatched
against
Big Ten
competition,
managing
just
three
points
against
a
Michigan
defense
that
appeared
to be in
midseason
form.
The
blowout
victory
should
significantly
boost
Michigan's
standing
in the
national
polls
and
provide
tremendous
momentum
as the
Wolverines
prepare
to enter
Big Ten
conference
play.
The
60-point
margin
of
victory
sent a
clear
message
that
Michigan
belongs
firmly
in the
national
conversation.
The
dominating
performance
took
place in
front of
a
raucous
crowd at
Michigan
Stadium,
where
the
Wolverines
put on a
clinic
in all
three
phases
of the
game.
What
began as
a
heavily
favored
matchup
for
Michigan
turned
into a
complete
rout
that was
never in
doubt
after
the
early
going.
This
resounding
63-3
victory
marked
Michigan's
most
impressive
performance
of the
2025
season
and
established
the
Wolverines
as a
team to
watch in
the Big
Ten.
